A Co-Own home by our definition is a home/breeder that is looking to partner with us in the continuation of building our line (and theirs). Being a QBBC Co-Owner is being a partner with us. We are very selective on who we Co-Own with, but all families/breeders are welcome to apply.
Being a Co-Owner allows you to be a half owner of a high-quality cat/dog, for a significantly lower cost than purchasing him/her outright. Partnering with QBBC as a co-owner allows you to not only have the pet of your dreams but to also have a mentor, partner and friend in the long run.
QBBC responsibilities include:
If at any point the animal cannot be kept by the Co-Owner or the Co-Owner is unable to fulfill their end of the contract, then the animal will return to the QBBC location, and the contract will be terminated.
Co-owner responsibilities include:
We are well aware that most other breeders (newbies) no longer ask for a "buy in fee", but we do, along with MANY other long-term breeders. If you want a free dog, please pick another breeder, we have too much invested into our animals to just give them to potential Co-Owners. Whether the animal you're wanting to Co-Own has been bought or produced by us, we have both time and money invested into the animal. It doesn't make sense for us to do all the leg work, just to give up 50% of said animal & 50% of the gross produced by each litter.
Our Co-Own fee is $800 - $1,000. The fee is non-negotiable and required to all Co-Owners. As a Co-Owner you are buying into our brand and becoming a partner with us. As a Co-Owner, you are buying 50% of the dog and 50% interest so you are buying in at half of the outright price for the dog.
Co-Owned female terms/contract length vary per female and the wants/needs of QBBC. The terms will be discussed with the Co-Owner in great length so each Co-Owner is well aware of what we expect from both them and the dog in the future (as well as what we bring to the table as the breeder), but ultimately the contract terms will be decided by us, QBBC. All of our females are under contract for their entire breeding career (up to FOUR naturally produced litters, or THREE c-section).
*Note: If WE (QBBC) deem her (for ANY reason) unable to stay an intact mother in our program, then she will NOT be available with breeding rights to ANYONE. She will be spayed and will remain with her co-owner, will come back to QBBC or will be placed in a pet home. *

* Note: We cannot and do not guarantee fertility or showing results *

Both QBBC & the Co-Owner will have full access and availability to use the stud/king, for any in-house breeding. Meaning both QBBC & the Co-Owner can use the stud on their personal dams/queens. The Co-Owner will be allotted half of every stud fee secured with a signed agreement. In the event that a puppy/kitten back agreement is made by QBBC, then the Co-Owner will receive a $500 cash payment (once QBBC has received our puppy/kitten).

Ragdoll Co-Owners are responsible for keeping up with proper grooming & handling, as he (the future stud/sire) will be shown and titled before being bred. Both QBBC & Co-owner will attend each planned show, if Co-owner cannot attend said show, then Co-owner is responsible for transporting said Ragdoll to QBBC so we can take him.
